59:1. Glorifying God is everything in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

59:2. He is the One who evicted those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture from their homes in a mass exodus. You never thought that they would leave, and they thought that their preparations would protect them from God. But then God came to them whence they never expected, and threw terror into their hearts. Thus, they abandoned their homes on their own volition, in addition to pressure from the believers. You should learn from this, O you who possess vision.

59:3. If God did not force them to leave, He would have requited them in this life (even worse than forcing them to leave). In the Hereafter He will commit them to the retribution of Hell.

59:4. This is because they opposed God and His messenger. For those who oppose God and His messenger, God is most strict in enforcing retribution.

59:5. Whether you chop a tree or leave it standing on its trunk is in accordance with God's will. He will surely humiliate the wicked.

59:6. Whatever God restored for His messenger was not the result of your war efforts, whether you fought on horses or on foot. God is the One who sends His messengers against whomever He wills. God is Omnipotent.

59:7. Whatever God restored to His messenger from the (defeated) communities shall go to God and His messenger (in the form of a charity). You shall give it to the relatives, the orphans, the poor, and the traveling alien. Thus, it will not remain monopolized by the strong among you. You may keep the spoils given to you by the messenger, but do not take what he enjoins you from taking. You shall reverence God. God is strict in enforcing retribution.

59:8. (You shall give) to the needy who immigrated. They were evicted from their homes and deprived of their properties, because they sought God's grace and pleasure, and because they supported God and His messenger. They are the truthful.

59:9. As for those who provided them with a home and a refuge, and were believers before them, they love those who immigrated to them, and find no hesitation in their hearts in helping them. In fact, they readily give them priority over themselves, even when they themselves need what they give away. Indeed, those who overcome their natural stinginess are the successful ones.

59:10. Those who became believers after them say, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us to the faith, and keep our hearts from harboring any hatred towards those who believed. Our Lord, You are Compassionate, Most Merciful."

59:11. Have you noted those who are plagued with hypocrisy, and how they said to their companions in disbelief among the people of the scripture, "If you are evicted we will go out with you, and will never obey anyone who opposes you. If anyone fights you, we will fight on your side." God bears witness that they are liars.

59:12. In fact, if they were evicted, they would not have gone out with them, and if anyone fought them, they would not have supported them. Even if they supported them, they would have turned around and fled. They could never win.

59:13. Indeed, you strike more terror in their hearts than their fear of God. This is because they are people who do not comprehend.

59:14. They do not get together to fight you unless they are in well-shielded buildings, or behind walls. Their might appears formidable among themselves. You would think that they are united, when in fact their hearts are divided. This is because they are people who do not understand.

59:15. Their fate is the same as their counterparts who preceded them. They suffered the consequences of their decisions. They have incurred a painful retribution.

59:16. They are like the devil: he says to the human being, "Disbelieve," then as soon as he disbelieves, he says, "I disown you. I fear God, Lord of the universe."

59:17. The destiny for both of them is the Hellfire, wherein they abide forever. This is the requital for the transgressors.

59:18. O you who believe, you shall reverence God, and let every soul examine what it has sent ahead for tomorrow. You shall reverence God; God is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

59:19. Do not be like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves. These are the wicked.

59:20. Not equal are the dwellers of the Hellfire and the dwellers of Paradise; the dwellers of Paradise are the winners.

59:21. If we revealed this Quran to a mountain, you would see it trembling, crumbling, out of reverence for God. We cite these examples for the people, that they may reflect.

59:22. He is the One God; there is no other god besides Him. Knower of all secrets and declarations. He is the Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

59:23. He is the One God; there is no other god besides Him. The King, the Most Sacred, the Peace, the Most Faithful, the Supreme, the Almighty, the Most Powerful, the Most Dignified. God be glorified; far above having partners.

59:24. He is the One God; the Creator, the Initiator, the Designer. To Him belong the most beautiful names. Glorifying Him is everything in the heavens and the earth. He is the Almighty, Most Wise.

59:1. வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ள ஒவ்வொன்றும் கடவுள்-ஐத் துதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன, மேலும் அவர்தான் எல்லாம் வல்லவர், ஞானம் மிகுந்தவர்.

59:3. புறப்படும்படி அவர்களைக் கடவுள் நிர்ப்பந்தித்திருக் காவிட்டால், (புறப்படும்படி அவர்களை நிர்ப்பந்தித்ததைவிட இன்னும் மிக மோசமாக) இவ்வுலகில் அவர்களை அவர் பழிவாங்கியிருப்பார். மறுவுலகில் நரகத்தின் தண்டனைக்கென அவர்களை அவர் ஒப்படைத்து விடுவார்.

59:4. இது ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் கடவுள்-ஐயும் அவருடைய தூதரையும் எதிர்த்தனர். கடவுள்-ஐயும் அவருடைய தூதரையும் எதிர்ப்பவர்களுக்கு, தண்டனையை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் கடவுள் மிகவும் கண்டிப்பானவர்.

59:5. நீங்கள் ஒரு மரத்தை வெட்டிவிட்டாலும், அல்லது அதன் அடித்தண்டுடன் அதனை விட்டு விட்டாலும், அது கடவுள்-ன் நாட்டத்திற்கு ஒப்பவேயாகும். தீயவர்களை நிச்சயமாக அவர் இழிவுபடுத்துவார்.

59:6. கடவுள் தன்னுடைய தூதருக்கு மீட்டுக்கொடுத்தது எதுவாயினும், அது உங்களுடைய போர்ப் பயிற்சியின் விளைவால் கிடைத்ததல்ல, நீங்கள் குதிரைகளிலோ அல்லது நின்று கொண்டோ போரிட்ட போதிலும் சரியே. கடவுள்தான் அவர் நாடுகின்ற எவருக்கும் எதிராகத் தன்னுடைய தூதர்களை அனுப்புகின்றார். கடவுள் சர்வசக்தியுடையவர்.

59:7. (தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட) சமூகங்களிடமிருந்து கடவுள் தன்னுடைய தூதருக்கு மீட்டுக் கொடுத்தது எதுவாயினும், (ஒரு தர்மம் என்ற முறையில்) கடவுள்-ஐயும் அவருடைய தூதரையும் சென்றடைய வேண்டும். நீங்கள் அதனை உறவினர்களுக்கும், அனாதைகளுக்கும், ஏழைகளுக்கும், வழிப்போக்கர்களுக்கும் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். இவ்விதமாக, அது உங்களுக்கிடையில் உள்ள வலியவர்களின் ஏகபோகமாகத் தொடர்ந்து இருந்து கொண்டிருக்காது. தூதரால் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட போரின் மீதப் பொருட்களை நீங்கள் வைத்துக் கொள்ளலாம், ஆனால் எவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொள்வதிலிருந்து அவர் உங்களைத் தடுக்கின்றாரோ அவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளாதீர்கள். நீங்கள் கடவுள்-யிடம் பக்தியோடிருக்க வேண்டும். தண்ட னையை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் கடவுள் கண்டிப்பானவர்.

59:8. புலம் பெயர்ந்து வந்திருக்கின்ற தேவையுடையவர்களுக்கு (நீங்கள் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்). கடவுள்-ன் அருளையும் உவப்பையும் தேடியதனாலும், மேலும் கடவுள்-க்கும் அவருடைய தூதருக்கும் ஆதரவளித்த காரணத்தாலும், அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய வீடுகளிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்டனர், மேலும் அவர்களுடைய சொத்துக்கள் பறிக்கப்பட்டன. அவர்கள்தான் உண்மையாளர்கள்.

59:9. அவர்களுக்கு முன்னரே நம்பிக்கையாளர்களாக இருந்து வந்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஓர் இல்லமும் ஒரு புகலிடமும் வழங்கியவர்களைப் பொறுத்த வரை, தங்களிடம் புலம் பெயர்ந்து வந்தவர்களை அவர்கள் நேசிக்கின்றனர், மேலும் அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வதில் தங்கள் இதயங்களில் எந்தத் தயக்கமும் கொள்வதில்லை. உண்மையில், அவர்கள் கொடுத்து விடுபவற்றின் தேவை அவர்களுக்கே இருந்த பொழுதும், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கும் மேலாக அவர்களுக்கு உடனடியாக முன்னுரிமை கொடுக்கின்றனர். உண்மையில், தங்களுடைய இயல்பான கஞ்சத்தனத்தை வெல்பவர்கள்தான் வெற்றி பெற்றவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

59:10. அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னர் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களாக ஆனவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், எங்கள் இரட்சகரே, எங்களையும் விசுவாசம் கொள்வதில் எங்களை முந்தியவர்களான எங்களுடைய சகோதரர்களையும் மன்னிப்பீராக, மேலும் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்கள் பால் எந்த வெறுப்பும் கொண்டிருப்பதிலிருந்து எங்கள் இதயங்களைத் தடுத்து விடுவீராக. எங்கள் இரட்சகரே, நீர் இரக்கமுடையவராக, மிக்க கருணையாளராக இருக்கின்றீர்.

59:11. நயவஞ்சகத்தால் பீடிக்கப்பட்டவர்களையும், மேலும் அவர்கள் வேதத்தையுடைய மக்களுக்கிடையில் நம்பமறுத்தலில் உள்ள தங்களுடைய தோழர்களிடம், நீங்கள் வெளியேற்றப்பட்டால் நாங்களும் உங்களுடன் சேர்ந்து வெளியில் வந்து விடுவோம், மேலும் உங்களை எதிர்க்கின்றவர்கள் எவர் ஒருவருக்கும் ஒருபோதும் கீழ்ப்படிய மாட்டோம். எவரேனும் உங்களுடன் சண்டையிட்டால், உங்களுடைய அணியில் நாங்கள் சண்டையிடுவோம், என்று எவ்வாறு கூறினார்கள் என்பதையும் நீர் கவனித்தீரா? அவர்கள் பொய்யர்கள் என்று கடவுள் சாட்சி பகர்கின்றார்.

59:12. உண்மையில், அவர்கள் வெளியேற்றப்பட்டால், அவர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து அவர்கள் வெளியேறி இருக்கமாட்டார்கள், மேலும் எவரேனும் அவர்களுடன் சண்டை யிட்டால், அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஆதரவளித்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஆதரவளித்தாலும், அவர்கள் புறங்காட்டித் திரும்பி ஓடியிருப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் வெற்றி பெற இயலாது.

59:13. மெய்யாகவே, கடவுள் மீது அவர்களுடைய அச்சத்தைக் காட்டிலும், அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களில் அதிகமான திகிலை நீங்கள் அறைகின்றீர்கள். இது ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் கிரகித்துக் கொள்ளாத மக்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

59:14. நன்கு பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட கட்டிடங்களுக்குள்ளோ, அல்லது சுவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாலோ அவர்கள் இருந்தாலேயன்றி, உங்களுடன் சண்டையிட அவர்கள் ஒன்று சேர மாட்டார்கள். அவர்களுக்கிடையில், அவர்களுடைய வல்லமை எதிர்க்க இயலாததைப் போன்று தோன்றுகின்றது. அவர்கள் ஒற்றுமையாக இருப்பதாக நீர் நினைக்கக் கூடும், ஆனால் உண்மையில் அவர்களுடைய இதயங்கள் பிரிந்திருக்கின்றன. இது ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ளாத மக்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

59:15. அவர்களுடைய தலைவிதி அவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர்களைப் போன்றவர்களுக்கு நேர்ந்த அதைப் போன்றதேயாகும். அவர்களுடைய தீர்மானங்களின் விளைவுகளை அவர்கள் அனுபவித்தனர். வலி நிறைந்ததொரு தண்டனைக்கு அவர்கள் உள்ளாகி விட்டனர்.

59:16. அவர்கள் சாத்தானைப் போன்றவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்: மானிடனிடம் அவன் கூறுகின்றான், நம்பமறுத்து விடு, பின்னர் அவன் நம்பமறுத்து விட்டவுடன், அவன் கூறுகின்றான், நான் உன்னைக் கைவிட்டு விட்டேன். பிரபஞ்சத்தின் இரட்சகரான, கடவுள்-ஐ நான் அஞ்சுகின்றேன்.

59:17. அவர்கள் இருவருக்குமுரிய விதியானது நரக நெருப்பேயாகும், அங்கே அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தங்கியிருப்பார்கள், வரம்புமீறியவர்களுக்குரிய கைம்மாறு இதுவேயாகும்.

59:18. நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோரே உங்களைத்தான், நீங்கள் கடவுள்-யிடம் பக்தியோடிருக்க வேண்டும், மேலும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆத்மாவும் நாளைக்கென முற்படுத்தி அது அனுப்பியிருப்பதென்ன என்பதைப் பரிசீலித்துக் கொள்ளட்டும். நீங்கள் கடவுள்-யிடம் பக்தியோடிருக்க வேண்டும்; நீங்கள் செய்கின்ற ஒவ்வொன்றையும் கடவுள் முற்றிலும் நன்கறிந்திருக்கின்றார்.

59:19. கடவுள்-ஐ மறந்துவிட்டவர்களைப் போன்று நீங்கள் இருக்கக் கூடாது, அதனால் அவர்கள் தங்களையே மறந்து விடுமாறு அவர் செய்து விட்டார். இவர்கள் தான் தீயவர்கள்.

59:20. நரகநெருப்பில் வசிப்பவர்களும், சுவனத்தில் வசிப்பவர்களும் சமமாக மாட்டார்கள், சுவனத்தில் வசிப்பவர்களே வெற்றியாளர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

59:21. இந்தக் குர்ஆனை ஒரு மலையின் மீது நாம் வெளிப்படுத்தியிருப்போமாயின், கடவுள்-ன் மீதுள்ள அச்சத்தால், அது நடுநடுங்கி, பொடிப் பொடியாகி இருப் பதை நீர் காண்பீர், அவர்கள் சிந்திக்கக் கூடும் என்பதற்காக, இத்தகைய உதாரணங்களை மனிதர்களுக்கு நாம் எடுத்துரைக்கின்றோம்.

59:22. அவர்தான் ஒரே கடவுள்; அவரை அன்றி வேறு தெய்வம் இல்லை. அனைத்து இரகசியங்களையும் அறிவிப்புகளையும் அறிந்தவர். அவர்தான் மிக்க அருளாளர், மிக்க கருணையாளர்.

59:23. அவர்தான் ஒரே கடவுள்; அவரை அன்றி வேறு தெய்வம் இல்லை. அரசர், மிகப் புனிதமானவர், சாந்தியுடையவர், மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவர், மேலதிகாரம் மிக்கவர், எல்லாம் வல்லவர், மிகவும் சக்திநிறைந்தவர், மிகவும் கௌரவமானவர். கடவுள் துதிப்பிற்குரியவர்; பங்காளிகள் கொண்டிருப்பதை விடவும் மிக மேலானவர்.

59:24. அவர்தான் ஒரே கடவுள்; படைப்பாளர், ஆரம்ப கர்த்தா, வடிவமைப்பவர். மிகவும் அழகிய பெயர்கள் அவருக்கே உரியவை. வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ள ஒவ்வொன்றும் அவரைத் துதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. அவர் எல்லாம் வல்லவர், ஞானம் மிகுந்தவர்.
